Some of our Management Committee Members.......
Nadine Brown - Deputy Chair
Hi. My name is Nadine Brown and I have been a Trustee for Earthworks since 1999. I enjoy being a trustee because it gives me a sense of responsibility, enables me to give something back to the community and it helps the environment.
I have always been interested in nature conservation. I used to run the local group for the Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust and did lots of work in the nature reserves.
Earthworks is full of happy and enthusiastic people. Part of my involvement in Earthworks has been the development and the organisation of the Millennium Maze in Highfield Park. I like being involved in projects like that.
I also do the Health and Safety audits for the Earthworks site. Earthworks' outdoor work environment is slightly more challenging than the main office at Three Valleys Water where I used to be the Health and Safety officer!
I have lived in St. Albans for about 20 years and and have 3 children.
Jo Dickenson
Hi, My name Jo Dickenson and I have been a member of the Management Committee since 1996. I was originally asked by Elisabeth Hudson who is one of my neighbours.
I enjoy being on the Committee because it enables me to mix with people I wouldn't usually mix with. Everybody at Earthworks seems so enthusiastic to make things happen. The staff are so keen. They are all in their jobs because they really want to work for Earthworks and do this kind of work.
I spend very little time on the Earthworks site itself and I do regret not being more physically part of all the activities on site. During the day I work for the County Council Environment Department where I look after the IT work and websites for different departments.
I help every month with the set up of the Farmers Market and get to see some of the end products ( and taste!) . I enjoy getting the stall looking nice. Presentation is so important.
