11 April 2014
Every April trainee Paul Oliver arranges a special day at Earthworks to remember friends who are no longer with us. This year we paid special tribute to Lynette Warren, one of Earthworks most long standing trustee’s who sadly passed away in January.
Sitting in the sunshine on the lawn everyone enjoyed a tasty tea party eating cakes and scones baked by the trainees and volunteers. Paul even made a special fruit punch which was particularly delicious!
Later in the afternoon the group congregated in the new bee garden area at the bottom of our Hixberry Lane site (still under development!) to plant a very special Welsh apple tree. A variety sourced by Johnny that originated in an area not too far away of where Lynette was from. Members of Lynette’s family and her husband Roy helped Earthworks trainees to plant the tree and to surround it with welsh daffodils!
