Not only have both they and the team created a community within the building but ever since their earliest of days in 2012, the community outside and around the building was of equal importance.

Since 2012, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks has held Comedy nights, quizzes, open air cinemas, hosted weddings, birthdays and anniversaries, provided live music and many more activities in order to meet the wants of the public.

Amongst all these activities and also "usual business" there is an unspoken, under-announced and subtle fact that has existed since the change of hands from all those years ago.

Within the heart of the business there has always been a steady burning passion to support the local community charity Earthworks.

Earthworks St Albans has been a long standing registered charity in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, which has held an aim to support and train others, many with learning disabilities, to develop new and existing skills in conservation and horticulture. Training individuals to put their skills and care into providing a service that will also benefit their own service. Not only does the charity provide an incredible theraputic service to the users but it also provides one of an occupational and vocational value. One within which friendships are made, understanding is granted and a service without judgment that links in with a large part of the Hertfordshire area.

Indeed, Earthworks is not the only charity supported by Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, but it is one that has always been close to the hearts of all those within the establishment ever since Christo and Chris welcomend in their generation of Ye Olde Fighting Cocks in 2012. ... See more
